Direct Flights to Frankfurt Resume June 1st! ✈️
Cork's direct link to Frankfurt is back! Lufthansa is reinstating the route from June 1st after its regional partner grounded its fleet, with services running five days a week. They’ve even upgraded to a larger Airbus A319 with 138 seats, a step up from the previous 90-seaters!
With a 5pm departure, you’ll have no trouble connecting to Lufthansa’s global network, opening up a world of travel to Asia, the Middle East, South America, and countless European cities. (Read More)

The Merchant Arrives: South Mall Set for a Pub Scene Revival! 🥂
You know the old Electric bar on South Mall? Well it's getting a serious shot in the arm! The Merchant opens there on May 21st — a seven-figure transformation of the Art Deco building into a two-floor pub with live music seven nights a week, 380 capacity, and a strict pints-only policy — no food, just drinks and music.
The team behind Mabel Lane and The Castle Glanmire are running it, and if those are anything to go by, South Mall is in for a very good time! (Read More)
N25 Midleton to Youghal Project Moves Ahead: Contracts Signed 🛣️
Work on improving the N25 between Midleton and Youghal is officially moving forward, with contracts signed for the design phase. AECOM and Roughan & O'Donovan have been appointed to plan a safer, more efficient 20km stretch at a cost of €6.8 million. Public consultations on the options are expected later this year — one worth watching if you use that road regularly! (Read More)

Cork first-time buyers, listen up! Phase 3 of the Glenbride affordable housing scheme on the Old Mallow Road opens for applications next month — and the prices are worth paying attention to. Two-bed homes start at €270,500 and three-beds from €299,000, up to 24% below current market value for Cork city.
