New Routes, More Sun: Cork Airport Unveils 2025 Winter Schedule ✈️

Pack your bags, Cork - winter adventures just got a major upgrade!

Cork Airport has unveiled its 2025 Winter Schedule, and it’s bursting with options: 1.4 million seats between November and March, two brand-new Aer Lingus routes, and a host of sun and ski favourites returning to the skies.

The big additions? Prague (twice weekly from October 23rd) - perfect for Christmas markets and mulled wine - and Geneva (weekly from December 20th) for ski lovers and lakeside explorers alike. Aer Lingus is also boosting flights to Lyon, Munich, and Salzburg for winter sports, while keeping year-round favourites like Malaga, Lanzarote, and Tenerife.

Ryanair isn’t sitting still either, with 22 routes this season, and with KLM and Air France linking Cork to over 320 worldwide destinations, it’s never been easier to skip the Dublin chaos and fly local! (Learn More)

Community News

Construction Begins on New East Cork Care Centre 🏥

Construction is officially underway on the new Youghal Primary Care Centre, a modern, three-storey facility that’ll make getting everyday healthcare easier for locals.

Once complete (in around two years), it’ll bring services like GPs, Public Health Nursing, dental care, and therapies - including physiotherapy, speech & language, and occupational therapy - all under one roof. The centre will also offer dietetics, mental health support, and flexible consulting rooms for visiting specialists.

The HSE says this new hub will mean fewer long journeys for routine appointments and will help take pressure off busy hospitals like CUH. It’s part of a wider plan to strengthen community-based healthcare across Cork, with similar centres already popping up in places like Midleton. Great to see! (Learn More)
